What Is PetPact?

PetPact® is an expert-developed pet care plan that records your wishes and your chosen guardian’s details — a clear, practical document designed to sit alongside your Will.

It lets you name a guardian, outline your pet’s routines and preferences, and make clear your wishes for their ongoing care.
Created by our team of specialist solicitors, PetPact provides a practical, compassionate way to protect your pet’s wellbeing — even if you’re no longer able to care for them yourself.

How PetPact Works

We’ve designed the process to be fast, secure and easy to complete from home:

Choose your guardian – name the person or people you trust to care for your pet.
Set your preferences – record details such as routines, dietary needs, veterinary contacts and lifestyle.
Finalise your PetPact – your completed plan is stored securely, with copies available for you and your chosen guardian.

The entire process takes around 15 minutes to complete.

Individual PetPact – £45
For one pet owner making their own plan.
Couples PetPact – £55
For joint pet owners who wish to make a shared agreement.

Is PetPact legally binding?

PetPact creates a clear written record of your wishes and guardian arrangements, backed by Roche Legal’s expert drafting. It’s designed to work alongside your Will or estate plan.

What types of pets are covered?

PetPact can be used for any pet — from dogs and cats to rabbits, reptiles, birds, and beyond.

What if I have more than one pet?

No problem! You can include up to three pets in each PetPact.

What if two people share ownership of a pet?

No problem. PetPact includes a couples version – perfect for couples, housemates or friends. You can make decisions together about what should happen if the relationship ends – like a “pup-nup” (but for all pets!).

Do I need a solicitor to use PetPact?

No. PetPact is designed to be completed without legal help. However, if you’d like it to be incorporated into your Will or made legally binding, Roche Legal can help with that separately.
